Malachi O'Doherty

Malachi O'Doherty is a journalist from West Belfast, Northern Ireland. He provides political and social commentary for Radio Ulster's Talkback Programme and for BBC TV's Hearts and Minds.

He writes for several Irish newspapers and frequently reports for BBC Radio Ulster's religious affairs programme, Sunday Sequence.

He has written three books,

  • The Trouble With Guns: Republican Strategy and the Provisional IRA (The Blackstaff Press 1998)
  • I Was a Teenage Catholic (Mercier/Marino 2003)
  • The Telling Year: Reporting Belfast 1972 (Gill and Macmillan 2007)
