Mal Fletcher (born October 23, 1957) is an internationally renowned Christian leader, speaker, author and TV presenter [1].

Mal speaks to many thousands of people, of all ages, in up to 20 nations each year. He is the director of Next Wave International, a Christian mission to contemporary cultures.

Mal Fletcher hosts the EDGES TV documentaries, which present evangelical Christian responses to social issues [2]. The programmes have been seen in many regions of the world, on satellite, cable and terrestrial stations[3]. Though mainly seen on Christian TV platforms, they have also aired on the Nine Network and Seven Network in Australia [4] and on SABC1 in South Africa [5].

Originally from Australia, Mal Fletcher became the founding national director of Youth Alive Australia in 1985. He served in that capacity until 1991. In that time, the movement grew from a few thousand in Melbourne to an estimated 60,000 young people across the nation [6]. Since that time, the model has inspired similar movements in Europe [7] and parts of South-East Asia [8].

Fletcher left Australia in 1994. Based first in Copenhagen then London, he launched the Strategic Leadership Consultation, a forum for European church and denominational leaders from 20 European nations [9]. Guest speakers at the forum have included acclaimed evangelist Reinhard Bonnke.

Mal is the author of several books, now available in six languages. They include Making God Famous, The Pioneer Spirit and Burning Questions. His most recent book, The Church of 2020, looks at the future of the church in a world of rapid change [10]. He has contributed to magazines around the world [11] and is often interviewed by the media on social issues [12].

Early in his ministry, Mal was a song-writer and recording artist. His most popular song, still recorded on albums around the world, is Come Holy Spirit (Fall Afresh On Me)[13].

In more than 25 years of Christian ministry, Mal Fletcher has been a guest speaker at many well-known Christian events, including Hillsong Conference (Australia) , Grapevine (UK) , Spring Harvest (UK), Rhema Conference (South Africa) and Planet Shakers (Australia). Mal is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God churches in Australia.

He lives just outside London with his wife Davina. They have three children, Deanna, Grant and Jade.
