[edit] Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC

Wish I could have been there. That looks like quite the turnout. When we had one in my burg only two people showed up: Angela and me. (That was fun though.) How was it? Antandrus (talk) 05:49, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

Sorry I missed the meetup, but my girlfriend was not about to give up our Saturday evening, as we had other commitments during the weekend. Be well, -- Ssilvers 15:38, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
No problem Ssilvers, I can sympathize. The meetup was pretty fun, and everyone was actually a lot more agreeable than I feared :) There were a few users I had conversed with to some extent, and many more I'd never run into. There were even a couple people who had never edited WP, but were interested in creating a wiki-based startup. Overall, the conversation was interesting and very civil, except for one random unaffiliated drunk guy who crashed our circle and was kind of annoying. I'm actually in a couple of the pictures, mostly making rather strange faces. (hm, I guess I should add captions, at some point). Mak (talk) 17:32, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

Yes, it looks like it was a big success, and why not? The NY area has many Wikipedians, so it makes sense that we would have a vital group. I hope to make it next time. Best regards, -- Ssilvers 21:49, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

  • Hey, just wanted to say hi and thank you for coming to the WikiMeetup in NYC...also, and thank you for showing up at St. Thomas's beforehand. —ExplorerCDT 04:07, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks for your block note

Hi, thanks for your block note. I am working on a bot called User:PocKleanBot and as you say it has written the same template to a few pages. The reason for this is that it does keep a list of articles for which it has already been run but at this point its obviously not recalling values from it correctly. The bot is still in development but its very difficult to develop it without testing it occasionally and observing the output. I am aware this causes something of a nuisance for users and so left it as late as I could in the development process.

I have now corrected this problem I think, but it could cause the same problem again if unblocked and re-run.

What would you recommend?

PocklingtonDan 18:18, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

I hope I didn't come off as angry or anything. I appreciate the work you're doing. Cheers, Mak (talk) 19:42, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
Not at all, you've been great. Its some of the other disproprtionately angry responses I don't quite understand! I'm running the bot now and it is defintiely working now and not writing to a page where its template already exists. Thanks for your patience! :-) - PocklingtonDan 19:44, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Tragédie en musique/cut and paste

Sorry about the cut/paste. Actually I have been trying to find out the right way to do this. If you can let me know I will be grateful. (Maybe I shouldn't tell you about my other crimes . . . .) - Kleinzach 00:12, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for your understanding response. Obviously I do a 'move' when it is possible, however from time to time someone changes a correct title to something else, which then creates a redirect which blocks the revert. As you are our resident admin here, would you plrefer me to just tell you every time I find one of these problems ?
Plea bargaining: I have also done the same thing to Mitridate, re di Ponto and La finta semplice at the request of one of our friends who also wasn't sure how to do it. Sorry, sorry . . . - Kleinzach 12:11, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Zur Namensfeier

Freshly made Beethoven Symphony, though perhaps requiring your and Antandrus's sight to fix the language, and...well...make the article, since I only do poor stubs. *sob* Not that I'm sure there's really terribly much else to say about it. Which is why I tend to make stubs, y'see. Ciao. ~Kylu (u|t) 06:53, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

Moved some of my article editing to another account and finished a few articles if you'd like to review them. JBarrett (Kylu-music-article-sock) 05:34, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

I just got back from out of town. I've looked at Zur Namensfeier, and I'll look at the others when I get a chance. Cheers, Mak (talk) 05:45, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
Grazzi, grazzi. Also new: Alla Pavlova. I imagine there are a few Wikiproject Composers people that have been wondering why this one didn't exist. JBarrett 19:51, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] A Chantar

Nice! Nice!

I have a strong preference for #2. It's ... not only the presence (with the less "live" ambience) but overall just seems more personal somehow. Really beautiful. I like the way you did the ending too. Antandrus (talk) 22:09, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

Cool, thanks. I wonder if I should upload it as a new version of Image:A Chantar.ogg? and have the other one deleted as a duplicate? Mak (talk) 22:29, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
Hm, not sure. It's certainly possible someone else might like the other one, and I don't see a problem with keeping both (unless you don't like one). I haven't done too much ogg-ing. Antandrus (talk) 22:33, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
Yargh. Now that I've already messed everything up, apparently mindspillage prefers the reverb-y one. Mak (talk) 22:45, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
LOL, that's the way it is with such subjective things... you know, had I listened to it late at night rather than on a bright breezy afternoon, I may have preferred the first also. So it goes... :) Ask Moreschi for a tie breaker.  ;-) Antandrus (talk) 22:48, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
LOL, yeah. Hey! Moreschi! Image:A Chantar.ogg vs. Image:A Chantar2.ogg (I think I've fixed them so they're back to two different files) Mak (talk) 22:50, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
Heh. I am in a dark room holed up with property law. I like the mental image of the lone singer in a large cathedral I get with the reverby one. :-) But I like the other also, indeed, more personal. So it goes! Kat Walsh (spill your mind?) 23:02, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
Any ideas as to how I might actually get to here these - Windows XP? Usually for me these sounds files only work in the browser, and now that's broken I ain't got a clue as to how to listen to any of these recordings. Help!
Oh, and input at the newly-formed WP:SCISSORS would be great. Cheers, Moreschi 18:14, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Sorry. My computer is a heap of antiquated junk and it can't handle files like that, I'm afraid. Never mind, a super-duper new one should be arriving in the New Year with any luck. --Folantin 18:29, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Oh, and see the talk at WP:WPO. Is that really a valid opera genre? Nothing in Grove...Cheers, Moreschi 18:39, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Moreschi, see Wikipedia:Media help. Basically, you probably need to download a new (free) program. I used Audacity when I was on a Windows machine. I replied about Fairy opera on the WPO talk page. My only comment on WP:SCISSORS at the moment is that I would like more people to actually read WP:STUB and be aware what is a stub and what is not. Stub does not necessarily mean any "article" which has a bolded subject and a template and a stub template. Mak (talk) 21:37, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

I've finally got it all working - Audacity was the key, so I'm not reliant on the toolserver for the JOrbis player anymore - and I have to say that I prefer the reverb one. It hath more poetry to it. BTW, I'll have a little list of stuff that I'd ideally like recorded for the new project tomorrow when I've got more time. Hope everyone had a good Christmas! Cheers, Moreschi Deletion! 20:22, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Damien Shiest vandalizing?

I noticed you mildly warned Damien Shiest [1] so I figured I'd come to you about a possible issue with him. I'm not sure if he should be added to Wikipedia:Requests for investigation; I noticed he's been subtly vandalizing pages (some examples: [2] [3] [4]) and engaged in other questionable behavior ([5] and [6]). I suppose it might only be necessary for an admin to explain the problem to him.... Thank you for your time. -- Heptite (T) (C) (@) 09:18, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

Some more examples: [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] ...and there are possibly more. -- Heptite (T) (C) (@) 10:20, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, those edits, are, um. I've left another note. I don't think an "investigation" is necessary, but if he keeps it up, I might take it to WP:AN and suggest a community block. Maybe he can change, though, you never know. Thanks for pointing it out to me (I checked his other contribs at the time of my first warning, and they were mostly fine then, so I left it) Cheers, Mak (talk) 21:59, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Parthenia (music)

Mak,

Many thanks indeed for your kind comments. However, you request me >>... to add inline citations using the <ref></ref> format.<<

I am honestly not quite sure what you mean in this instance. When I use these brackets, it gives a footnote-like tag - but my article has no direct references. I actually wrote it by using multiple sources, including the three I put in the article (of which one is a facsimile of the original, and therefore a primary reference), and a few others. If you like, much of my article derives from multiple sources: e.g: the dedication is mentioned in nearly all sources pertaining to this publication.

Perhaps my mistake was to put the heading Sources, where it should have been Further reading. What do you think?

Thanks and best wishes Nick Michael 14:56, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] What a dog

[12] Really nice picture. I like it.  :) Antandrus (talk) 18:37, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks :) It's really hard to get these guys to stand still not completely facing you. Thekla kept turning around, which is why it has a somewhat weird perspective. (lol, now I'm going to go to FAC and see what they have to say!) Mak (talk) 18:40, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks!

Thank you, you too. The semester had just ended and I came by here to see what was going on--and saw someone had just removed a media file on the Pachelbel page, which inspired me to record a new one, come back and start working on things again. Plus, this is really quite a pleasant and beneficial way to spend one's free time, is it not? I am impressed that you are still here and putting lots of time into the project. Kudos! -—Sesquialtera II (talk) 23:40, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding Suicide Silence deletion

Requesting reasoning behind the speedy delete and protection of Suicide Silence. The afore mentioned death metal band is a well-known band with a rapidly growing fanbase. --ARandomHeretic 07:36, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

I deleted that article back in May, but anyway, at the time it was deleted because the article contained no claim of notability. Mak (talk) 14:00, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] recordings

Dear Mak:

I just wanted to tell you that I just listened to some of your recordings and your voice is beautiful. I am glad that you decided to share some of your singing with us.

Also, Merry Christmas! (...or not, I don't know if you celebrate it, but the sentiment remains the same :) ) —Sesquialtera II (talk) 04:47, 25 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Joyce Kilmer

Very weird. My great-grandmother knew your great-grandmother (or great-great), Aline in Stillwater, New Jersey. My ancestors built the house she lived in, named "Whitehall." I've recently been corresponding with Anne and Miriam (and they've passed my correspondence on to others in the Kilmer clan), trying to find out more about Aline's time in Stillwater. The recent correspondence has been inspiring me to get into some new Kilmer-related projects. I went to Rutgers--as is the tradition in my family--and my great-grandfather was there at the time before Joyce went off to Columbia. How'd you end up back with the Episcopalians when Joyce and Aline (and from what I gather a lot of the family is still) became Catholics? —ExplorerCDT 17:10, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

  • This is so going to have me headtripy for the rest of the day. "What a small world" comes to mind. Want to do lunch in NYC sometime after the first of the year? —ExplorerCDT 17:21, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

When you get the chance, I'd like to hear what you think of my revision of the Joyce Kilmer article. Still working on one section, but I've got most of the rest (85%) of the article done. —ExplorerCDT 17:41, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] I'd noticed

That was where my list was going to go :-) I also think that I might try to produce spoken versions of the opera GAs, or at least the ones that are stable. Agrippina maybe not, as I have long-term designs for that article. It's with multimedia stuff like this that we can really score over Grove and Viking et al, which are all ultimately print-based. Cheers, Moreschi Deletion! 20:33, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

No problem. I tried to tailor everything to what everyone could reasonably do, and I do think that each article could really benefit from those clips. I'm nowhere near good enough as either as singer or as pianist - weel, I suppose I could do some easyish piano stuff - I can play a bit - but then again I haven't got any decent recording equipment. I'll sign up when my technical abilities have improved and/or I can actually record stuff. But we certainly do need more free music! I noticed an organist has joined up - which hopefully might ease things a bit over at Bach? I mean, Bach did write a fair bit of organ music. Cheers, Moreschi Deletion! 17:15, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] User talk:Fame live4ever

The IP appears to be WorkingHard (talk contribs). He's the father of another wannabe teenage star, who got into a fight with Christina months ago. Seems he still carries a grudge. Fan-1967 02:56, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Weird and also weird. *sigh* Mak (talk) 02:58, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
Of course, when he worked on blanking his own Talk page in the same session, it was kind of obvious who it was. Long time to carry a grudge. Neither one has been active in months. Fan-1967 03:00, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
Don't know that I've ever seen that particular admin's name on a block log before. He must have been really nasty. Fan-1967 03:01, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The Rite of Spring

Hm. I think that one is doable. (Actually, I do believe I have read, in an article whose source is forgotten so I can't cite it, that the composer's intention was to have it sound like a struggle—that interpretation I can do. ;-)) Damn, now I have to go practice... Kat Walsh (spill your mind?) 17:23, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Replace {{reqrec}} with {{reqaudio}}

I propose that we replace all instances of {{reqrec}} with {{reqaudio}}. There are several reasons:

  1. Reqaudio has a more general name and also applies to non-recorded (i.e. synthesized) audio.
  2. Reqaudio is probably less-prone to misspellings than reqrec
  3. Reqaudio automatically adds pages to Category:Wikipedia requested audio, but does not include the template itself in that category.
  4. Reqaudio reqaudio has an optional parameter (1) that lets the requester specify exactly what audio they want.

--Dgies 01:51, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

So yeah... The duplication of effort was bugging me too much so I just replaced all existing transclusions of {{reqrec}}, added {{reqaudio}} to Wikipedia:Requested recordings and made it include a link there, and replaced {{reqrec}} with an alias to {{reqaudio}}. --Dgies 02:27, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
You forgot to mention that you suggested that the whole thing be merged. Mak (talk) 04:57, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Carlo Gesualdo

This is spam?

etc. etc etc

A lot of the pages you have linked before were about the town, not about Carlo Gesualdo, and it seems to be a commercial site. Mak (talk) 16:56, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Spamming?

How am I spamming?

Hoffa (Hoffa fett), please sign your contributions. And stop spamming WP. Wake 00:55, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

Sorry about the lack of signature. I'm new at this.

I still don't get the spamming thing. A group of readers asked me to design a Wikipedia entry for this book. I am trying to make the entry a valid, complete article basing it off the structure of articles covering similar articles. I am not trying to infringe on Copyright, especially sine the author has been consulted in every aspect of this small project. I'm not trying to sell copies. I'm not trying to offend. I'm not trying to cause trouble. I'm not going around to other articles and users pasting "Read this article!!!" --Hoffa_Fett 01:06, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

I might be convinced if you removed the multiple links to Amazon, the book's website, the author's forum, etc, and provided some meaningful information about the notability of the book or the author. It's evident to me that your main emphasis is to promote the author and the sale of his books. Wake 01:19, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Deletion of articles inserted into the Copvio Resolution process

[edit] Thank you

Thank you for your kind comment. However, due to the recent blanking of valid discussion and unreasonable behavior on the part of certain editors on the matter of fair use (I think you know what I am referring to), I find that my participation and comments are simply not valued here at all, up to the very highest levels. I cannot and will not continue to contribute to this project in such a climate, so add me to the list of formerly productive, hard-working contributors who have been driven away from Wikipedia by these actions over the past weeks. Good luck with your work. Badagnani 10:01, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

He's already been banned under at least one other name (Woomoobs57 (talk • contribspage movesblock userblock log)), and I've gotten a few other attacks from his socks. If you want a laugh you might check out the content of the deleted article, which was AFD'ed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Factory: The Musical. [edit] Your thoughts on 360 Architecture

After you took the page down for being advert, I made changes that I feel adjusted the page to address your problems with it. Later the page was taken down because a user did not feel that it asserted merit as an organization or company. Please view revisions at User:Sdkucera/360 Architecture.

A direct quote from the guidelines for Wikipedia's organizations and companies states, "Notable means "worthy of being noted" or "attracting notice". It is not synonymous with "fame" or "importance". Please consider notable and demonstrable effects on culture, society, entertainment, athletics, economies, history, literature, science, or education."

360 has built corporate headquarters for two Fortune 500 companies, and is currently the architect for two major league sports stadiums (one estimated at $500 million and the other estimated at over $1 billion) in addition to the other projects I have listed on the page. There are also links to multiple publications that have featured work of and done feature articles on 360 Architecture. I strongly believe this constitues "notable and demonstrable effects on culture, society, entertainment, athletics, economies, history, literature, science, or education" as listed in the guidelines.

Best Regards,

Sdkucera 16:22, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Asola

Ciao! i've moved again Gianmateo Asola to Giovanni Matteo Asola. Please don't revert it. Don't care if your English sources spell him that way: for the reasons I've tried to explain in the talk, or if it's mostly used in English countries. That English form is simply wrong, as nobody is called "Mateo" nor in Italy nor in Anglo-Saxon countries. Thus, if we are going to have accuracy here, we should get rid from errors, even if coming from (apparently) respectable sources. I think, for Italian stuff is better to consider Italian sources as more reliable, don't you agree? Bye and good work!!! --Attilios 09:10, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

You still have not come up with any sources whatsoever, Italian or otherwise, that spell his name your preferred way! He was a 16th century man, of course the spelling of his name is not going to sound right to modern Italians. In addition, the convention for English Wikipedia is to use English spellings. Since I have given multiple sources in the past for "my" (i.e. the rest of the world's) spelling, I am moving it back, until you come up with a solid source for this particular man. Again, the standard of Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth. Mak (talk) 15:18, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
I don't agree at all with you. Just an example. I've just corrected an article from 1911 Britannics (is there any more apprently reliable English source than Britannica?) in which Porziuncola was called a "city", when it's (and has even been) a church instead. And I could list thousands of them, even from 1993 Britannica I've in my bookshelf... I can't really stand the way you stuck to English source(s), when I've showed you so much how are they our-of-date (not to say something worse, beginning with "Shi" and anding with "y"...) regarding many Italian arguments. articles? I listed many reliable sources, some even in English (a phD thesis!!!), but of course you didn't even check them. What is "all the world"? I've showed you German, Spanish, English, French, Italian sources.... when the only source you gave so far is the Grove Dictionary. Anyway, as you are so unreasonable, I'll let the argument go. Are you happy now? Bye and good (?) work. --Attilios 22:09, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Ornaments

Absolutely! That's a great idea. The only thing I find baffling is that we don't have one already: appears that the ornaments article has some decently expanded descriptions of a very few, but I haven't found anything like a list elsewhere. As you know--as a singer--there are lots. Good work; we can use this.  :) Antandrus (talk) 23:22, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

Rock on sister. And if you like 'dem ornaments, and since we've already entered this tier of musicology dorkiness, can I tell you that I read a fantastic article by Barry Cooper titled "Beethoven’s Appoggiatura’s: long or short?" I'll never think about appoggiaturas the same way again. MarkBuckles (talk) 06:06, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Deletion of Mia Banggs

Could you please undelete this article? She is notable by the fact that she has appeared in over 100 movies, as stated in WP:PORNBIO. This was clearly not a vanity article. Epbr123 16:59, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

It says "using any simple count of number of films that a performer starred in to determine notability is very controversial." The article gives absolutely no non-trivial external coverage for her. I think our biographies of living people should be held to a much higher standard of sourcing than other articles, and there is no indication that this person is any more notable than anyone else in the adult film industry. Mak (talk) 17:02, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
The article had reliable sources proving that she is a prolific pornstar. That is all that is needed. WP:PORNBIO states 'modern American heterosexual performers are usually notable if they appear in more than 100 films'. The WP:PORNBIO criteria are derived from results of past AfD discussions which shows that precedants have been set. I've seen many articles like this at AfD discussions and they've always been kept. There are many less notable porn stars than her on Wikipedia. Epbr123 17:12, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
Those sources show little more than that she exists and acts in porn movies. I'm not convinced, you can get someone else to delete it if you want, but I'm not going to. Mak (talk) 17:23, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
If she's been in a lot of porn movies, doesn't that show she is famous. Can't you undelete it and then let it go to a AfD discussion? Epbr123 17:29, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
No, it doesn't. Lot's of porn is made. So are lots of cans of Coca-cola. That doesn't mean that any cog in a giant industry is notable. But fine, for the purpose of process-wonkery I will AfD it. Mak (talk) 17:38, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
Thank you. Epbr123 17:58, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
Hi. The result was keep. I'm not being smug but I just feel I should recommend you not be so quick to delete things in future. Thanks. Epbr123 23:31, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

When I used, "In almost all circumstances" I was thinking of checkusers who, apparently, are required to be verified at some point.MikeURL 19:03, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

That's not for credentials though, that's real identities, and it's to the WMF, not on a public community page. Totally different things. Mak (talk) 19:06, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Warning

Do not vandalise user pages, as you did to mine, or I may report you. I'll describe the vandalism:

  • Deleted my town.
  • Deleted my TOB.
  • Deleted my age.
  • Deleted my birthdate. Replay7 21:59, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
Please don't put that information on your userpage, it's best to keep excessive personal information private on the internet, since you never know who will come across it. Mak (talk) 22:00, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Rachel Corrie - Photo Deletion

Want to know why you deleted RachelProtest.jpeg without discussion after four years of being in the article and mounds of discussion about that picture in particular. In fact, there are much more questionable photos used in the article that were not deleted, so my question is why was that image was singled out? As for reinstating the picture, it was, again four years ago, distributed by ISM (I believe without any restrictions, though it was a long time ago) and published in dozens of media outlets including AP and Reuters. I already uploaded a replacement given to me by the person who took the picture, and it was deleted as well, for reasons I don't know since the page is completely gone. What is going on here? Mgaines 18:43, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

I asked why this image was singled out to begin with, before I uploaded my copy. I'd appreciate an answer. Mgaines 01:19, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for your prompt responses. I will re-upload the photo with the correct copyright information. I do still take issue with images being deleted for political reasons, or at least singled out for political reasons, and I'm not blaming you specifically but when an image has been debated for literally four years and then all of a sudden gets deleted because someone on one side of an issue emails an admin, I think that is problematic. Thank you Mak. Also discovered I can hit the four tildes button in the toolbar ;) Bee Coz 16:19, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

Mak, was wondering if you could tell me how to justify a paragraph? Have looked in the editing help section but can't find the information. Thank you, Bee Coz 16:28, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

Okay, thanks. Bee Coz 16:35, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Commentaries in Learning Torah

Can you please explain what is wrong with linking to relevant commentaries in LearningTorah.org and why they were deleted? This is not spam but content directly relevant to each section of the Torah as listed. It is also in fact, exactly in keeping with the other similar commentaries that have also been created in the past for other such repositories of content.

For example - all of these pages:

Commentaries from the Jewish Theological Seminary Commentaries from the University of Judaism Torah Insights and Torah Tidbits from the Orthodox Union Commentaries and Family Shabbat Table Talk from the Union for Reform Judaism Commentaries from Reconstructionist Judaism Commentaries from Chabad-Lubavitch Commentaries from Torah.org Commentaries from Aish.com Commentaries from Shiur.com Commentaries from Torah from Dixie Commentary from Ohr Sameach Commentaries and Shabbat Table Talk from The Sephardic Institute

Thank you very much in advance.

--Torahorg 21:16, 28 March 2007 (UTC)Torah Org

I have removed some of those from at least one article. The existence of spam from other sources does not excuse continued spam. Also, your links seemed to be more to a forum than to scholarly commentaries, although it's possible that I only saw one section of your site. Also, your adding the links may be a Conflict of interest in editing, see WP:COI for our policy on that. That you were adding the same site to many pages at once speaks to spam to me. Mak (talk) 21:26, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

Mak, I understand your concern and agree with you 100% about the SPAM. But in fact, this site is not a forum at all and the commentaries are coming from the best scholars who provide their articles and feedback about Torah issues exactly relevant for these sections. For example, you can look at the Category list or the Featured divrei Torah including Rabbis such as Berel Wein Parshas Devarim-Harsh Hugs. The reason there were so many links was simply because someone showed me the other day that there was a listing of commentaries on Wikipedia (as above) and it made perfect sense to add these links as well. I would ask you to reconsider your decision to delete the links. The content is relevant, some of the best scholars in the Torah world have there commentary in these links, and I believe it does meet the Wikipedia guidelines. --Torahorg 04:09, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thank You

Hi there, I just joined Wikipedia, and already I think it is great. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Chriskid321 (talkcontribs) 00:19, 29 March 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Hi There

Hi, I am a friend of the chicken show at AY Jackson Secondary School (Ottawa), and he recently added the chicken show information. Please do not delete the info for The Chicken Show as this is for school purposes. I go to the school and I like the Chicken Show. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Chriskid321 (talkcontribs) 16:30, 29 March 2007 (UTC).
