Maker's Mark Mile Stakes

The Maker's Mark Mile Stakes is a race for thoroughbred race horses run at Keeneland each year. The race is open to horses of either gender, age four and up, willing to race one mile on the turf. This Grade II event carries a purse of $250,000.
The Maker's Mark Mile is named for the bourbon distiller headquartered in Loretto, Kentucky. Maker's Mark has sponsored the race, formerly known as the Fort Harrod Stakes, since 1997. It will be in its 19th running in 2007.
