This template should list only the metropolitan cities of India. The Census Commission recognises cities with a population above 4 million as a metropolitan city. (See mega cities). For the list of Indian cities that qualify, see World Gazeeter =Nichalp «Talk»= 05:14, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Redundant template?

I believe this template has become redundant since it now contains only the metro cities (not major) in it. There already is a template Template:Metropolitan_Cities_of_India that lists the metros. thunderboltza.k.a.Deepu Joseph |TALK 11:52, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
