Major League Baseball 2K8 or in short, MLB 2K8, is an MLB licensed baseball simulation video game developed by Kush Games and published by 2K Sports, which represents the third seventh generation console baseball game of the 2K Sports Major League Baseball series, and the second lead developed by Ben Brinkman for Kush. In Brinkman's 1UP.com log, MLB 2K8 represents the final, polished target of a planned three year development for 2K's baseball series for next gen systems, with MLB 2K7 being a middle stage between 2K6 (which Brinkman was uninvolved with) and 2K8. According to Brinkman, "At the same time we set out a three year plan for the MLB franchise so that once 2K7 ended we could get right to work on 2K8 and have a set of goals and features to accomplish."
As of now, only Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii editions are expected, though it is likely there will be handheld versions as well, and possibly sixth generation console versions, in particular for the PlayStation 2. This will be the first iteration of the 2K series for the Wii.[1]
MLB 2K8 is currently in pre-production.[2]
