Major Impact Wrestling

Major Impact Wrestling (MIW) is a Professional Wrestling promotion based on the Gold Coast of Australia. It is run by New Zealand born wrestlers Peter "Hawk" Ball and his son Troy "Cruz" Ball.

MIW was known as World Championship Wrestling Australia (WCWA) until March 20, 2005 when it rebranded to Major Impact Wrestling. The first person to hold the MIW Heavyweight Championship was Cruz. Cruz was the reigning WCWA Heavyweight Champion who in the last match under the old WCWA brand, beat John E. King of New Zealand promotion Impact Pro Wrestling on March 19, 2005.
MIW runs a wrestling training gym, known as the "Sweatshop" in Ashmore on the Gold Coast of Australia. Training is conducted year round by trainers Matt Sparnon and Luke Chin.
MIW often features wrestlers from other wrestling promotions from around Australia and New Zealand.
