Majin

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Majin (魔神?) is a Japanese term that means a magical being, i.e. a genie or sorcerer. It can also refer to a demonic or evil entity. The kanji literally translates to "demon god", but it may also be used for an entity. This term is a vital part in the Shin Megami Tensei franchise and is also the title of one of its spinoffs, Majin Tensei.

The term has been used to describe leaders or rulers of a particularly vicious or ruthless nature.

In the Western world it is mostly known for being the name of the Dragon Ball Z villain, Majin Buu. It is also the name of a family of character classes in the Disgaea series of games, which are usually the most powerful available.
