Majaji was a queen of the Lovedu tribe, a dependent allied nation of the Kushite Empire. At around 350 A.D., she led her people in battle against the Romans, who had been at war with the Kushites. She was killed while defending the capital city of Meroe against the Romans. She carried a shield and a spear.
