Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeated. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia under the three-revert rule, which states that nobody may revert a single page more than three times in 24 hours. If it isn't too much of a hassle, considering the sockpuppeting problems with the page, it may be best to delete all but the current version of the sandbox page. I removed the text which was causing the problems. Ansell 04:13, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Red links

Hi, following a link from Wiktionary, I found the Wikipedia Dis page with redlinks near the top. [edit] Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Quinley, Kevin M.

You've removed the tag and posted a notice on the talk page, but you don't seem to have actually closed the AfD.

I was going to close this as delete, given the handwaving nature of the arguments to notability (Google hits are not an assertion of notability, writing ten books and 500 papers is not an assertion of notability, only writing ten successful books and 500 influential papers is, and no-one's produced any sources to show that, only claimed that someone else should - why the hell we volunteers should perform such a free service for self-promoters is beyond me - but I digress and rant), but I guess I'm going to have to defer to you as having got there first - sort of. --Sam Blanning(talk) 10:46, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] deleted article

Hello,

I am writing in regards of an article about *.gay that was deleted in May.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/%2A.gay

The program did exist. It aired in the channel 33 "IDEAS" of CableVision. It was the first gay/lesbian tv show ever in Ibero-America.

I saved articles in several languages from that time and I can email them to you in case you need them to see the validity of the note. You can also contact CableVision www.cablevision.com.ar regarding the show. The channel does not exist since several years now, but they might have some information.

I even got sued by someone that had "patented" the idea of a generic gay tv show, however, since Argentinean law does not allow "ideas" to be patented, the claim was dismissed.

If you need the articles, please email me at martin_aiello@hotmail.com

[edit] Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Outsider (comic) (2nd nomination)

Would you consider taking a second look at your close of this? With nine delete votes to seven keep votes it may seem like a "no consensus," but I think if you look at the strength of the arguments it's a pretty clear delete based on wikipedia policy. Reasons given for deleting include "The only source of information is the website itself," "no assertion of notability," "doesn't meet WP:WEB," and " WP:V says 'Articles should rely on credible, third-party sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy. ... If an article topic has no reputable, reliable, third-party sources, Wikipedia should not have an article on that topic.'" Reasons given for keeping include "It's a Googable webcomic," "the comic clearly exists and has some history," "it doesn't appear in books and magazines specialized in webcomics," and "I masturbated into a sock last night." I know you do a really good job closing a lot of AfD discussions, but I think this one may have slipped past you. -- Dragonfiend 14:18, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] My RfA thanks

Hello Mailer diablo/Archive Q, and thank you for your support at my Request for Adminship, which succeeded with an overwhelming final count of (105/2/0). I was very pleased with the outpouring of kind words from the community that has now entrusted me with these tools, from the classroom, the lesson in human psychology and the international resource known as Wikipedia. The Free Encyclopedia. Please feel free to leave me plenty of requests, monitor my actions (through the admin desk on my userpage) and, if you find yourself in the mood, listen to some of what I do in real life. In any case, keep up the great work and have a fabulous day. Grandmasterka 06:08, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Anti-Feminism

Why was this article deleted? It couldn't have been deleted for following the the neologism or protologism criteria because you get 145,000 results when you search in google. I can not even find the deletion discussion page. I hope you can tell me the reason because I am sure many users will find such an article useful.

Unitedroad 07:38, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

I don't quiet remember.........but searching both Anti-Feminism and anti-feminism gives no result and when you look at its deletion log , it says 09:53, 2 April 2005 Mailer diablo (Talk | contribs) deleted "Anti-feminism" (Closing VFD Debate - The result of the debate was Delete)
Unitedroad 08:50, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
Ok. But the term itself is not non-notable so can a new more more encyclopaedic article for this be written now? Unitedroad 09:00, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] AfD Lists of Foo by Bar

  • To both User:Mailer diablo and User:Sceptre - You were the closing admins on AfD List of JPN PM by long and AfD List of UK PM by long, respectively. I admit I am new to WP, and my intent is not to use the justification of one admin to change the decision of another. I would guess that that either or both of these will end up in WP:DRV, where unfortunately, that argument may come up. Instead, my question is would these be good candidates for WP:AFDP? I read that it is not policy, but thought that these type of discussion will probably come up again and it would be handy to have it listed. -- MrDolomite | Talk 13:56, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Encyclopedia Dramatica AfD

Hey, good eye on catching that early closure. As an impartial admin, can you fix any inappropriate or incorrect formatting like that which you see? I'd rather not (nor do I want Netscott to) since either of us trying to fix it will just start ANOTHER fight. Would you please mind? Just for the sake of civility, to make this like other AfDs for sanity and fairness? If you did it as having nothing to do with it before this (please, please, please just post a concise edit note so someone doesn't jump on you?), I think it will go over fine. I'm not trying to drag you into a mess or anything. By the way--what is different about the formatting compared to how it's "typically done"? I didn't understand the bit about wanting more editors to see it... thanks! rootology 07:00, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Request for undeletion

I love Wikipedia and use it as my first resource on any topic. Thank you for your hard work.

However, I am frustrated about my experience with adding a page about my son, Jason Hunt. I have tried twice, and both times the page was removed as a "vanity" article. I found the dispute resolution process confusing so I sent a message to the main address, and Kat Walsh suggested that I write to you.

On the Wikipedia "vanity" page it says "An article should not be dismissed as 'vanity' simply because the subject is not famous." Jason is not famous, but I believe he deserves to be included as he has single-handedly developed the Internet's largest (by far) children's art gallery (the Global Children's Art Gallery at http://www.naturalchild.org/gallery). He created the gallery in 1997 at age 16 to encourage child artists, and has put thousands of hours of unpaid work into this project. This is important work. He has received a great many emails from children who are inspired by this collection and from adults who recognize the importance of art in life. Isn't this wonderful accomplishment worth including?

I have a Wikipedia page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jan_Hunt_%28psychologist%29) yet I believe that Jason has accomplished something far more significant than I have. Could you let me know how to proceed?

Thank you for your time,

Jan Hunt
