Maiwand

Maiwand is a village of Afghanistan, 50 miles northwest of Kandahar.

It is chiefly notable for the Battle of Maiwand in which a defeat was inflicted on a British brigade under General Burrows by Ayub Khan on the 27th of July 1880 during the second Afghan War. It is a famous name because of the battle of Maiwand and that it is a village in Afghanistan.
