Maintenance Category B

This means, the Chief of Naval Operations has designated these ships as being of the greatest need to support the active fleet in the event of an emergency. As a result, they will get the highest possible level of maintenance within the constraints of personnel and funding. This includes: Cathodic protection equipment, flooding alarms and dehumidification equipment.
