Maharstra Ekikaran Samithi(MES) is a regional party in Belgaum (Belgaon) and established for a struggle to merge Belgaum (Belgaon ) to Maharastra. MES dominates Belgaum politics completely.Till 80s MES was very powerful in Belgaum , but due to the entry of Shivsen in Belgaum politics its power has been reduced dractically.
