Mahan class destroyer

The Mahan-class destroyers served in the United States Navy during World War II.
The ships were built by various shipyards between 1935 and 1937. The last two ships, USS Dunlap and USS Fanning were modified slightly and sometimes referred to as the Dunlap-class.
Named for Alfred T. Mahan, a Naval officer and theorist on sea power.
