Mahamed Muumin

Mahamad Muumin (1500-1582), father of the large Reer Mahamad Muumin subclan of the Somali Leelkase tribe, lived approximately five hundred years ago in the present day Mudug region of Central Somalia. Mahamad Muumin was a prominent scholar whose grave in southern Mudug Region is visited by many Somalis. He wrote several volumes of books which are today in the custody of the Leelkase Ugaas in Galdogob city. These books focused mainly on Islamic subjects as well as the Somali people and their history.
