Mahabubabad

Mahabubabad is a town in Warangal District with population around 100,000. Once it was the biggest Revenue Division in Andhra Pradesh state. Later it is divided into two divisions. It is the station between Kazipet and Vijayawada Junctions. The people in this division mostly uses train transportation instead of bus. Mahabubad's Other name is Manukota. Manukota coming from Mranukota. "Mranu" Means Tree, and Kota means Fort. In earlier days Manukota covered with plenty of trees like a Fort. Hence they are calling Mranukota. Later it is spelled as Manukota. Once upon a time one small fort was also located at Manukota. It is near Ellend Road. Near to Mukund Theatre. Now it is destroyed (1990).
In this town Main streets are New abad and Old Abad. Peoples main activity business, Agriculture. In this town good corpenters are available.
Mahabubabad is one of the well developed town in Warangal District. There are more than 25 Schools in Mahabubabad. Literacy is about 58%. Many people from different mandals commute to Mahabubabad for Studies.
