Magnevist (gadopentetate dimeglumine), is a contrast agent extensively used in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
Marketed by Berlex Laboratories, it was the first I.V. contrast agent to become available for clinical use, and is in widespread use in the United States.
The agent utilizes the paramagnetic properties of Gadolinium chelates to obtain its T1 and T2 altering effect.
