[edit] Character history

Sullivan first came onto the scene in Genoa City to investigate to the body of Carmen Mesta (Marisa Ramirez) found behind the Indigo Club. Throughout the case, she has remained a force to be reckoned with and continues to search for the truth as to who killed Carmen, where she was murdered and why. She has also begun a relationship with Paul Williams (Doug Davidson). Suspicious of Paul's behaviour, she tracked him to an abandoned warehouse. She went to the warehouse to find who she believed to be Phyllis Newman (Michelle Stafford) imprisoned in a cage. It was actually the psychotic Sheila Carter (also Michelle Stafford), who had undergone plastic surgery to look like Phyllis, and who Paul had been keeping locked up for months for Lauren Baldwin's safety. Maggie let 'Phyllis' out, only to be choked by her and left for dead. Sheila then imprisoned Paul in the cage with Maggie and shot Maggie. Sheila kidnapped Phyllis, as well as Phyllis' daughter Summer and Lauren's son Fenmore. Sheila took them to a hotel, where she held Phyllis and the babies for several days, during which time Michael Baldwin and Paul figured out that they could talk to Sheila via walkie-talkie. Then Paul was able to figure out where Sheila was, and Lauren went into the hotel with a gun in her purse. After Sheila and Phyllis argued over who was who, Sheila shouted "Point the gun at me!", and Lauren shot her. Sheila died minutes later, and the babies were safe. Paul then visited Maggie in the hospital, and told her that when she was interrogated, she should leave Lauren and Michael out of the story, as they too, like Maggie, 'stumbled into this themselves'. Then, a fellow detective came to ask Maggie about her shooting, and Paul was asked to step outside. It remains to be seen what Maggie will tell the detective.
