Maggia is a municipality in the district of Vallemaggia in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland.
It has 774 inhabitants (2000). The present municipality of Maggia was created in 2004. It unites the previous municipalities of Maggia, Moghegno, Aurigeno, Giumaglio, Someo, and Lodano. The municipality has about 2400 inhabitants, and its official language is Italian.
