José de Magalhães Pinto (1909-1996) was a Brazilian politician and banker.

Magalhães Pinto was born in Santo Antônio do Monte, the state of Minas Gerais. He was the governor of this state between 1961 and 1966. When he was governor, Magalhães Pinto was a strong opponent of the president of Brazil at that time, João Goulart. In 1964 he became the civilian chief of the movement of Goulart's deposition.

After leaving the governorship, he became the minister of foreign affairs and a senator.
