Magadh Express is the super fast train running between New Delhi and Islampur. Its Number is 2401/2402. It departs from Islampur at 1555 hrs and reaches New Delhi on next day at 1105 hrs. Earlier its number was 2391/2392 and was of Eastern Railways and now it runs as a train from Northern Railways. It covers a distance of 1065 Kms in 17hrs50 minutes as 2402 Magadh Express and 19 hrs 10 minutes from Islampur to New Delhi. Earlier it used to run between Patna to New Delhi. with racks of Vikram Shila Express (Now running separately on Number 2367/68 between New Delhi to Bhagalpur) running up to Bhagalpur as 3467/3468 Numbers and used to cover the distance of 998 kms in only 15hrs 05 Minutes but due to increase in stoppages and induction of many more superfast trains its importance has decreased.
