Mae Harrington

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mae Maxwell Harrington (January 20, 1889 - December 29, 2002) is the oldest person in the history of the state of New York, breaking the record held since the 1920s by then world's oldest person Delina Filkins. Born in Rochester, she became the oldest recognized person in the USA at the death of Adelina Domingues. After she died at almost age 114, the oldest recognized person in the United States was Mary Christian.

Because her age was not authenticated during her lifetime (her only relative, a son, had already died at a very young age in World War I), the public recognition she was due went to Mary Parr (February 1, 1889 - October 29, 2002), and her age was only validated posthumously.
