[edit] Basque Portal?
Kaixo, I'm contacting you because you figure in Category:User eu, meaning that you speak some Basque. You must therefore be Basque yourself or have an intense connection with the Basque Country.
I am thinking that maybe was a good idea to create a Portal (or maybe a Wikiproject? or both?) on the Basque theme but I feel such kind of project requires more than just one person.
If you are interested, please comment in my talk page.
Enjoy, --Sugaar 10:30, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] I (= wannabe polyglot) do (!)
...enough so, that when I read your User page (and of course your Babel boxes) for the first time, I immediately checked History for the Page to see if it had been vandalized, as I simultaneously reviewed appropriate avenues for action. Seeing who'd performed the edit, I realized that my concern was misplaced — but considered that even so, you might like some feedback. So here you have it. -- Deborahjay (resuming follow-up on what I came here to do), 05:44, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Fukuyama (City) - Thanks!
Your thorough explanation was doubly welcome. I found the content helpful, but appreciated even more the considerations you noted in the particular context-sensitive use of language. I wish all translators were as conscientious!
For the record: in this present assignment, captions for a series of documentary photos about the early years of the Holocaust Education Center, I've decided to describe its location as "...Fukuyama, a city near Hiroshima," without adding any nomenclature qualifying the latter (i.e. prefecture vs. city). The pertinent aspect is "Hiroshima" as an instance of mass killing during WWII.
So thanks again, and I'm looking forward to seeing your editing in the future (and may be back with more queries as time goes on...). -- Deborahjay 08:52, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Re. Stupid Question
Hey. Try using command instead of span style. That should do it. You can also pick hundreds of colors here and e.g. use "#DC143C" for crimson insted of "red". I hope this helps. Regards,--Húsönd 13:31, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
