I removed the bullet pts which should have read

if they were useful. IIRC we don't even discuss the given name of Melvil Dewey, who was notable, slightly notable as a spelling-reform advocate, and tried to reform the spelling of his own name. Given names of individuals are not notable enuf to provide access via the given name, even when the person is notable, and probably not even if the name is notable in the context of the notability of the person -- unless they are better known by given name than by given and surnames.
