Madras Bulls

Founded on 21 April 2002, The Madras Bulls is an informal biking club based in Chennai. The club's focus is on the Royal Enfield motorcycles, which all its riders ride.
The club presently consists of 66 Madbulls (as the members are known) and 400 newbies. The club meets on the second Saturday of every month, and regularly goes on long rides. Although all the members come from various stages of age and career,the club is bound together by love of the Royal Enfield bullet.
It shares the same passion with other motorcycling clubs in India, such as the Rolling Thunder Motorcycling Club of Bangalore, the Wanderers of Hyderabad, Inddiethumpers of Mumbai, Royal Beasts of New Delhi and Road Survivors of Chandigarh.

[edit] Classification
Even though the Madras Bulls is an informal group, the members can be categorized as :
- Owners - The owners are two of the senior members, Daniel a.k.a Dodo and Brijesh who provide the thrust for the club to move forward. They are very experienced riders and are part of the founding members of the club.
- Moderators - The moderators lead the riders on a ride and play a role in the decisions of the club. The current moderators are Rangarajan and David Ebenezer.
- MadBulls - All the members come under this category. Presently 66 Madbulls ride from different walks of life.
- Newbies - The Madbull "Newbies" are those members of the club who have recently joined. They are promoted to Madbulls depending on their interest and commitment to the group. At present, there are over 400 newbies.
No Matter which category the person belongs to, at the end of the day,its the ride and the rider that matters.

- August 27, 2006 - In continuation to the Madras Day celebrations, Madras Bulls organised a ride across historical landmarks around the city for the second consecutive year.
- Jan 20-22, 2006 - Rider Mania 2006, the annual meet of the Bullet Clubs in India, was conducted by the Madras Bulls.
- August 28, 2005 - As part of the Madras Day celebrations, Madras Bulls organised a motorcycle run across the city, touching important landmarks.
- July 2004 - Dodo and Ranga do a Kashmir to Kanyakumari trip.Also known popularly as K2K ride, this ride is know for its challenging aspect, and is something which every rider would dream of doing.The ride includes, mountains, hills, lakes, name it and you will find all the terrain en route to test your riding skills.

The Club is based exclusively around the Royal Enfield motorcycles, a brand known for its heritage value. The Bullet is a motorcycle that has remained mostly unchanged for the last 50 years. The club has also adopted the newer motorcycles released by the company, such as the Thunderbird, Electra and the Machismo.

Every month there is a ride organised by the club in which there is something new learnt on the road. Riding together brings about sensible riding as well as learning which is very essential for an individual when he rides on the roads.

The Madras Bulls very strongly promote safety in its riders. This includes compulsory helmets, proper riding attire and sensible, civil, disciplined riding.
