Madlyn Rhue

Madlyn Rhue (b. October 3, 1935, Washington, D.C. - d. December 16, 2003 in Woodland Hills, California) was an American character actress.

From the 1950s to the 1990s, Rhue (née Madeleine Roche) appeared in some twenty movies, including Operation Petticoat (1959) and It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963). She also was a guest star in dozens of TV shows, including a 1967 appearance as Khan Noonien Singh's love interest in the Star Trek episode Space Seed. Rhue previously played the spouse of another Ricardo Montalbán character in an episode of Bonanza in 1960.

Other guest appearances included Cheyenne in 1955, Rawhide in 1959, Hawaii Five-O in 1968, Charlie's Angels in 1976, and Fantasy Island in 1978. She also made appearances on Match Game from 1974-1976. She married actor Tony Young in 1962 but they divorced in 1970.

Beginning in 1977, Rhue had wheelchair mobility due to multiple sclerosis. [1] She continued to work, including a role on Days of Our Lives, but was limited to parts that did not require her to walk or stand.

She died from pneumonia at the Motion Picture and Television Country House and Hospital in Woodland Hills, California, aged 68.
