Madleen Kane is a singer born in Sweden in 1958 who had five Top 10 hits on the US Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart in the early eighties. Her biggest success came in 1981 when You Can / Fire In My Heart spent three weeks at #1 (these two songs were produced by legendary Giorgio Moroder). You Can was also her only Billboard Hot 100 entry, peaking at #77. However, her best known hits in the United States are Rough Diamond and Forbidden Love. The former model was said she retired from music career because she got "bored with the recording process." Even though no new music was heard from her since the late 1980's, she still remains a popular favourite with veteran club music fans and newer club music fans alike. Kane's fans still desire new music from her. Aside from her best of compilation, none of her original album have been released on Compact Disc. Kane's best of compilation, 12 Inches and More has remained a strong seller since its released in 1994.
