Madeline Levine

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Madeline Levine, Ph. D., is a practicing psychologist in Marin County. She is the author of three books: Viewing Violence published in 1996, See No Evil: A Guide to Protecting Our Children from Media Violence published in 1998, and The Price of Privilege published in 2006. The first two books represent an analysis of the negative effects on child development of media violence as depicted specifically in movies and TV programming. Her third book is a study of the psychological ailments plaguing teens from affluent families. This third book was based on her 25 years of experience in treating such teens within Marin County (an affluent community within the San Francisco Bay Area) and her reviewing the contemporary psychological research on the subject. Thus, her arguments are thoroughly referenced and well supported.
