Macrolepiota is a genus of white spored gilled mushrooms of the family Agaricaceae. The best known member is the parasol mushroom (M. procera).
The generic status of Macrolepiota is not unanimously held as some current books still leave the members of Macrolepiota in Lepiota.[1]
