Mackenzie No. 23, Alberta

The Municipal District of Mackenzie No. 23 is a municipal district in northern Alberta, Canada.
It is located in Census Division 17, along the Mackenzie Highway. Incorporated in 1995 from the former Improvement District No. 23., it was declared a Specialized Municipality in 1999, to address the particularities of managing such a large territory. The municipal seat is in Fort Vermilion.

The municipal district has a population of 8,829 in 2,395 dwellings, a 10.6% increase from 1996. On a surface of 80,526.79 km², the largest in the province, it has a density of 0.1 inhabitants/km².
