Mack Fleming

Mack Fleming, a South Carolina native and graduate in Horticulture from Clemson University, founded the Charleston Tea Plantation, America's only tea plantation.

The Charleston Tea Plantation is located on Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina and was founded in 1987 by Mack Fleming and partner William Barclay Hall. Fleming was also responsible for the design and construction of a patented tea harvester used at the plantation while employed by Lipton Tea. He has also completed coursework toward a Ph.D in Education at the University of South Carolina, as well as serving on the faculty of Trident Technical College. On August 29, 2001, he was appointed by George W. Bush to the Presidential Task Force to Improve Health Care Delivery for Our Nation's Veterans.
