Mac McAnally

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mac McAnally (born Lyman McAnally Jr., 1957, in Red Bay, Alabama, U.S.) is a musician, songwriter and record producer.

He scored his biggest single on the Billboard Top 40 pop chart in 1977 with the song "It's a Crazy World". In 1983, he near-missed the same chart with "Minimum Love". Since then, he has had success in the country music genre as a songwriter, session musician, and as a producer for the band Sawyer Brown.

He is currently a member of Jimmy Buffett's Coral Reefer Band. Buffett has recorded a number of his songs. Buffet pays him great respect by highlighting his friendship and debuting McAnally's song "The City" on Buffet's wildly popular live album, "Feeding Fenzy."

Mac's only Top 40 country music single, "Back Where I Come From", was later recorded by Kenny Chesney on Chesney's Me and You album. Although Chesney's version of the song was never released, he often performs the song in concert.
