Mabou Mines

Mabou Mines is an avant-garde theatre company founded in 1970 and based in New York City.
The company was founded by JoAnne Akailitis, Lee Breuer, Philip Glass, Ruth Maleczech, and David Warrilow. It was named after the town of Mabou in Nova Scotia, where the founders rehearsed the group's first piece, The Red Horse Animation.
