[edit] History
The building that currently houses Mabelvale Middle was opened in 1952 as Mabelvale High School (part of the Pulaski County Special School District at the time), when the former Mabelvale High School building was destroyed by fire in 1951. In 1965, McClellan High School opened on Geyer Springs Road, and students attending high school were transferred to the new McClellan school. Since the site was no longer needed as a high school, the campus was converted to a junior high. In 1987, the Little Rock School District annexed the school, as well as several other PCSSD campuses in the area. In 2000, the school, along with other Little Rock junior high schools, was converted to a magnet middle school.
