[edit] Bean
I am uneasy with using a nickname for the Ender's Game series. I believe that this should be renamed Bean (Ender's Game), similar to how Jane (Ender's Game) is also categorized. Ender's Game is short for "Ender's Game series" as that would be too long of a title. Hbdragon88 23:46, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, well, since that's what the category is named (Enderverse), I was thinking that maybe that would be a bit more fitting. You can move it to Bean (Ender's Game) if you want, but I would think that calling it "Enderverse" would be more encompassing than Ender's Game. Ender's Game series would probably also work, but I at least would think of the book, rather than the series, if I heard "Ender's Game" by itself.—M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 03:53, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Dj SKee??
what do u mean where did i hear about dj skee he is a well known dj for the blackwallstreet records. and it is strange nobody has yet to make a page about him. people have made one about the other blackwallstreet dj nu jerzey Devil. its just hard to find sufficient information about him and i need help making an article.Taylor21 08:19, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
- Black... wallstreet? Sorry, I have no idea what you're talking about. If he doesn't already have an article, it's probably because there's no available information. Wikipedia policy, specifically Wikipedia:Verifiability and Wikipedia:No original research, states that unverifiable information should not be included on Wikipedia, and that it needs to be published in reliable sources.—M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 08:28, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] pokemon Japanese names
these are the right pokemon Japanese names, why are you changing them Wael11 23:26, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
- Hm, well, I believe those are the trademarked romaji for the names, but I should probably check with someone more knowledgeable about that. PCP talk?—M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 23:30, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
- Apologies. I see you're new here. I'm referring to the Pokémon Collaborative Project's project talk page. This issue should probably be brought up there, where others can look over it and decide what to do. I'm not sure of this since I don't actually know enough ways to look up the trademarked Japanese romaji (which is what goes in that particular parameter of the species template, rather than the simple Hepburn romanization - which Serebii.net seems to get slightly wrong a lot). I know of this trademark database, but that's it, and most of the older Pokémon names (pre-4th-gen) don't seem to show up in there.—M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 00:07, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Crawdaunt
I agree with your idea but I'm retyping the word Role as it gives clarity(Refer to Torchic, a featured article). Vikrant Phadkay 13:31, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hm... Go ahead. It works either way, I suppose, but it's not necessarily a better way simply because of the Torchic article's FA status. In any case, leave "In the" in the headers, since they're about Crawdaunt in the foo rather than the foo about Crawdaunt.—M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 15:08, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
Reinsert all that you removed if you want Crawdaunt to become a GA!—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Vikrant Phadkay (talk • contribs) 13:34, 3 March 2007 (UTC).
- How does that stuff (that I removed) help? The information about the TCG, anime and series as a whole is entirely unnecessary to the Crawdaunt article. This information can be found in the specific articles about those things (Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon (anime), Pokémon (video games), Pokémon) and does not pertain directly to Crawdaunt; thus, that would be off-topic. Article stuffing. If Crawdaunt can't become a GA without stuffing its article with unnecessary details, then it doesn't deserve to be a GA.—M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 15:08, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Crawdaunt
Crawaunt is a GA now! Please don't mess with it or else you'll harm its quality! It is detailed and may it remain so! Vikrant Phadkay 17:11, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
- I've explained my edits. If you wish me to explain any more, please do ask what you would like to know. Stuffing information without regard to whether it helps a reader's understanding of Crawdaunt is not useful and in fact reduces the article's quality. It'd be like talking about New York, then deciding to explain in detail what New England is, then the United States of America, then the origin of the name for the American continents, then describing the Earth, then the Solar System, then the Milky Way, then the universe. Only the information explaining New York would be useful to a reader's understanding of New York—M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 17:12, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Thank you!!!
i was starting to update more images and noticed that someone was beating me to it :D Thnx a lot, hopefully things will go a bit faster, i'll start at the other end of the alphabet since you seem to be going straight from the beginning. One thing i'd like to ask, is that you try and add sources to (at least) the lead images. Put them in as external links, the address to use for those that don't have one (or those that link to a japanese site) is http://www.pokebeach.com/images/gallery/sugimori/XXX.png where XXX is the national number. Don't zero-fill, so Bulbasaur would be http://www.pokebeach.com/images/gallery/sugimori/1.png - again, thnx! -ΖαππερΝαππερ BabelAlexandria 23:35, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
actually, could u start at the other end? awb won't let me sort it Z-A, only A-Z. -ΖαππερΝαππερ BabelAlexandria 23:36, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Kricketot and Kricketune
Are you quite sure that these creatures do not belong in the category of "Crickets"?
They ARE both crickets, and as there is no "Fictional crickets" category, why not put them in there?
Come to think of it, where would you put them if not in "Crickets"? (If you don't mind me asking!!) :) -- NP Chilla 15:10, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
- Well, those categories are for categorizing real animals, right? So, um... how many fictional crickets are there, do you think? I can only think of those two and Jiminy Cricket off the top of my head. Maybe you could create one if there were enough. Also found Cri-cri (character), looking at Category:Fictional insects.
- I probably wouldn't put Kricketot or Kricketune in any categories, though. Categorizing them in Category:Crickets would be sort of like categorizing something like Meowth as Category:Cat breeds. :P
- They would probably go in the fictional insects category, but they're already in Category:Bug Pokémon, which is a sub-category of that, so categorizing them as both would be redundant. —M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 15:28, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] New Names from Seribii
I would like to get your opinion on something, if you don't mind -
How come Seribii is no longer treated like a reliable source? Have they made any great mistake of late? Just thought you might know (because I certainly don't!! ;) - NP Chilla 21:36, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
- Well, the problem is that none of Serebii's names can be verified. We've been taking the other names because they were revealed at Toy Fair or the Developer's Conference thingy. These ones weren't, and they're not from a reliable source (Serebii could be making them up for all we know), so they're being reverted. —M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 21:40, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
-
- Two things:
1. I doubt that serebii.net is arbitrarily making up names. Bulbapedia and Serebii.net have changed individual pokèmon pages teo reflect this, and 2. If these names are confirmed please revert back to the edits I made earlier. On a side note maybe these pages should be protected until the english names have been absolutely confirmed. Btw, are there any edits of mine you didn't revert?--Tempest115 21:54, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
- Probably. Not all of them have been reverted yet. (How many names did Serebii reveal just today again? x.x) But, yes, the names need reputable sources before they can be treated as fact on Wikipedia.
- As for Bulbapedia, they're a wiki, just like Wikipedia (well, only logged-in users can edit, but it's similar enough). The articles on Wikipedia were moved also, without reputable sources. I too doubt Serebii'd be able to make up ALL of these names, but Wikipedia takes information attributable to reliable published sources, not "truth". —M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 21:59, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
- hokay.--Tempest115 22:13, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
Ah, now I understand. Thank you. - NP Chilla 00:17, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Mojanbo
I can't revert Mojanbo any more without someone taking me to task before the admins, so could you try and deal with the flow of unconfirmed information on that article? -Jeske (v^_^v) 22:37, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
- Well, I guess this was handled with AMIB's protections and stuff, though I responded anyway (although late) so it wouldn't seem like I ignored it. :) —M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 23:34, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] RE: Pokemon Evolution Levels
All of the levels I put were, in some form, in the article already. However, they were somewhat confusing to find at times. Would you propose removing all of these forementioned levels from all of the Pokemon topics, or leave them as-is? --68.250.40.117 23:16, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what the consensus would be for that, but they're not put in the infobox currently. I agree that this does seem to be contradictory, though, and should probably be addressed sometime. Maybe you should bring this up at either Wikipedia talk:Pokémon Collaborative Project/Style or Wikipedia talk:Pokémon Collaborative Project? —M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 23:34, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Tyranitar2.jpg
source: http://content.answers.com/main/content/wp/en/thumb/f/f3/200px-Tyranitar.jpg —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Vikrant Phadkay (talk • contribs) 07:06, 17 March 2007 (UTC).
- Answers.com? It looks like they got it off of Wikipedia, too (/wp/en/), and most of their content comes from Wikipedia anyway, it seems to me... That also doesn't tell anything about its status as Sugimori artwork or otherwise, since there's no context. —M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 13:52, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] rumors
Hello. I have been discussing something with A Man In Black. On the new Pokemon articles, I have been stating that a Pokemon's name has been rumored to be such-and-such, and A Man In Black keeps on reverting those edits. I was just wondering who is right here? Thanks. Ksy92003 16:59, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
- I have to shut down my computer for a bit, so I might respond more later, but AMIB's reasoning sounds fine. —M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 18:07, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Pokèmon Protection
Way to go. It's about time somebody did that.--Tempest115 18:18, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, no, adding {{sprotected}} to a page, in itself, doesn't protect the page; it merely adds the notice that the page is protected. AMIB had protected the pages prior to that.
Looking at the template page, though, I see that a parameter could be added to the pages for the expiration date, which I believe AMIB put as April 22.—M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 18:45, 18 March 2007 (UTC) Which I can't do on my Wii, since the pages are so long. I'll do it later if no one else does.—M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 18:53, 18 March 2007 (UTC)- Actually, after viewing the template's source code, it doesn't seem that this would do anything. —M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 20:51, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
- At least it's something--Tempest115 20:33, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Manaphy
Regarding Manaphy's species, If i'm not mistaken the site this was taken from is owned by Game Freak/Nintendo.--Tempest115 19:38, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
- Which site is that? ^_^' Pe2k is a fansite, if that's what you're referring to. —M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 19:45, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
- I think it might have been pokèmon-games.com--Tempest115 20:00, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] New template
I just made a new template for bulbapedia and i was wondering you could help me implement it.--Tempest115 01:01, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, nice job. :) I might if I have time (if you're not done by then, that is). —M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 21:22, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] New Pokemon
You know, it's a lot of fun doing all of these reverts when people change the names, despite numerous discussions about the subject. It really fills up my "Contributions" total, which has improved by 40 with that last wave. Why do people consistently change the names, even when there is a clear notice not to? It's rather annoying, but yet at the same time it is fun to revert. Ksy92003 17:18, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
- Um... kind of. Don't get Editcountitis, though. D: —M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 21:22, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Sorry...
Sorry... I was just all fed up by my becoming a user and i just really felt i wanted to change the name. :( Please dont be annoyed. I just can't wait 'til the names are confirmed.
And again, Sorry.

[edit] Please Help
User:9999a9999 is putting warnings not only on my discussion page, but the user is also doing it to other people's pages like User:Hdt83. I also want to know if I'm allowed to delete the warning for my discussion page. User:9999a9999 got one warning for vandalizing a page, and I don't know why the user vandalized my page three times in less than a week. Can you help me to stop the user from doing from putting warnings in other pages and keep him from vandalizing my discussion page? 55555five55555 20:36, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
- It seems to me the user is doing this because he feels that he didn't deserve to be warned (incidentally, the user has only done this to your talk page and Hdt's, probably because you both put warnings on his talk page). Other than some userspace edits removing vandalism warnings and some moves of userpages outside of userspace, the user seems to me to be contributing in good faith. Lastly, I'm pretty sure you're allowed to remove bad-faith warnings from your talk page, but it's not that big a deal, really.
PS: Remember, we're not here to kill newbies, whether perceived as vandals or not; we're here to create an encyclopedia. —M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 21:08, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Question About Pokemon
If you have Pokemon Leafgreen, can you tell me where I can get a page describing how I can get the Ruby to give to Celio? 55555five55555 20:40, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
- Um... okay... Beat the Elite Four and get 60 Pokémon, so you get the National Pokédex. Then surf right and up from One Island's main area, then go up further to Mt. Ember. From there, go up the mountain and turn right somewhere near a hiker who teaches Explosion; there are Team Rocket members there. Go near them, and they should spot you and battle you. Go through the cave they were guarding and get the Ruby at the end. Done. Try using a discussion forum for this sort of stuff in the future, though. —M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 21:13, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

I explained why the page should be there but its still being contested!--Pickle456788 02:47, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
- Please see Wikipedia:Notability, a general criterion for inclusion stating that articles must meet a certain notability threshold in order to be included in the encyclopedia. Also see Wikipedia:Attribution and Wikipedia:Verifiability, which outline policy on Wikipedia stating that encyclopedic content must be verifiable, sourced, et cetera-- There need to be reliable sources that comment on the subject matter, or the article will not satisfactorily meet Wikipedia's standards.
Lastly, stop and think: How much information is even available on the subject? There needs to be a certain amount of information and, more importantly, real-world context for it to qualify for its own article. – mcy1008 (talk) 03:04, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Getting Upgraded Pokedex
For Pokemon Leafgreen, after you get the National Pokedex by Professor Oak after catching 60 species of Pokemon, you are only upgraded to about 250. Is their any way to upgrade it to #386 which is Deoxys? 55555five55555 06:47, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
- You have to get the Ruby on Mt. Ember of One Island, then get the Sapphire on Five Island (go to Four Island and go through Icefall Cave; go to Six Island and Cut the door to the ruins, then jump through the right holes, then try to get the Sapphire; go to Five Island and get into the Rocket Warehouse so you can get the Sapphire). Er... you really should ask this stuff on a forum, though. User talk pages are meant for encyclopedic collaboration. – mcy1008 (talk) 20:15, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
- Well, I do agree. Maybe you should explain it to him on his talkpage so he'll understand. Well, I can do it for you if you want. I just don't know how to explain it clear enough. TheBlazikenMaster 20:33, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Toritodon
I put the proof of where the english name of the pokemon was and you say it's not a reliable source. That was where the Magnezone name was and you say it's not reliable a source. You guys always say the english pokemon names were not true. I gave proof. --Naruto134 00:00, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
- Well, before
MYCMCY comes here I will explain. If you wanna argue with something argue with this. Fansites aren't proof, because they can make mistakes. TheBlazikenMaster 22:30, 8 April 2007 (UTC) - Magnezone came from the card images released to those fansites as a seed pack from PUSA. Same goes for Grotle, Torterra, Monferno, Infernape, Prinplup and Riolu.
Since these fansites don't cite their sources (well, they cite each other, but that'd be sort of like Wikipedia citing itself, see) for these other names, we can't use them per Wikipedia:Reliable sources. – mcy1008 (talk) 22:46, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
