M3F has grown into national digital media festival that draws students and teachers from various parts of Canada to participate in an important culutral and learning event.
Important aspects of this festival that make it important for others to know - 1. The festival exists both as an actual event as well as a virtual community 2. The festival draws 1000+ submissions from across Canada 3. The festival has significant support from all areas of the larger community - profit, non-profit, and government. 4. Last year the festival went international with the inclusion of both work from Hong Kong as well as actual festival attendees. 5. M3F is a leader in the area of online/actual digital arts events 6. As the festival grows into an international event students and teachers will come together to explore issues as broad as the effects of "globalization of culture" to the "impact of digital tools on story telling" to the "freedom of expression in the light of copy right laws".
