M-62 is an arc-shaped surface road in southwestern Michigan. It has a western terminus near Eau Claire and takes an easterly direction toward Dowagiac, at which it takes a more southeasterly turn toward Cassopolis. There it meets M-60 and makes an abrupt turn toward the southwest through Edwardsburg. In Edwardsburg it meets US 12 and continues southward toward the Indiana state line near Mishawaka and South Bend.

Michigan has long sought to build an expressway between Kalamazoo and the South Bend area, and the segment south of Cassopolis would probably be decommissioned if such a highway were ever built.[citation needed]
