M-136 is a Michigan state highway that was originally designated in 1931. It was formed as a state trunkline in 1927 as a part of M-13. It was formed from Brockway to Gardendale, connectine M-19 to M-51. In June 1962, M-51 is turned back to local control, and the section from Gardendale to Fort Gratiot is supplanted by an extended M-136.
