[edit] photos
Hi Lyo (again.) I saw you put a photo of Pamplona up -- awesome. Maybe we can get one with a waiter in? In any case, if you're in the neighbourhood, we need a photo of the Grolier Poetry Bookshop on Plympton Street. And I wonder (though it's a little before your time) can you find a photograph of the Tasty Diner? It was knocked down in 1998 or so. Sdedeo 02:03, 7 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Deathrock page
I don't know that much about the topic itself, but the anon who added the links added them to many other articles as well, even to such vaguely related articles such as Subculture, so I reverted him. If you think the links are ok on some of the articles feel free to readd them. :-) --Conti|✉ 19:49, Apr 6, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Garment District
Hey there. I noticed you created pages on the Garment District store but you misspelt it (Garmet), so I've moved the pages to the correct spelling. You might want to fix the link on your user page. Corvine 20:52, 10 Apr 2005 (UTC)
[edit] User:4.22.151.195
Check out Special:Contributions/4.22.151.195. The majority of the user's edits are simple vandalism, but a few of them appeared to be "Trojan horse" type vandalism: subtle changes that look superficially valid but may well have no basis in fact. Based on the number of times the 'test' templates have been subst'd into User talk:4.22.151.195, I didn't think it was unreasonable to revert those edits. If you can confirm the information from the user's changes independently, feel free to readd it to the article(s). IceKarmaॐ 02:27, 27 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Languages
If you put your language templates in a table, the Userpage template wouldn't be so squished and nasty on 800x600. Like so:

[edit] Globe
Dear Lyo,
A colleague and I are working on a Boston Globe story about wikipedia, and we are looking for a few local folks -- we have talked to several already -- who like to contribute and have views about the project. Will you call me at 617 929-3263? Or you could also email me at mehegan@globe.com if you want to suggest a number where and time when I could call you. I'm thinking of a short chat on the phone. Also, it's possible that we would want to take your picture.
Thanks so much,
David Mehegan The Boston Globe
[edit] Red vs. blue
Hi, I saw am image of you on the facebook, followed the link to your userpage and read it, I see your goal here is to make all the red links blue, and I thought you might be interested to know that the last time I checked (~2wks ago) we had around 2 million unique red links. —Ævar Arnfjörð Bjarmason 06:41, 31 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Image tagging
Could you add copyright tags to your images? I'd assume they're at least GFDL or some free license but since at least one is being used in an article it really needs to have some free license on it. Thanks. gren グレン 17:38, 24 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Photo Image:Maliceinleatherland.jpg
I noticed you uploaded Image:Maliceinleatherland.jpg and said that the photo was by Jenn Ryan. Is this you? If so, could you tag the image as GFDL (Or other suitable license) by putting {{GFDL}} on the image description page? If you're not Jenn Ryan, can you verify that she is willing to license the photo under the GFDL or similar license? Thanks for your contributions. Matt 18:00, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Globe
I'm normally not a big fan of paper newspapers, but I do recommend you pick up a copy of the Boston Globe today, or at least the front page. :-) --AaronSw 22:44, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
I thought I recognized your picture from that Boston Globe piece, but I couldn't remember where. Then today I figured it out: the mohawk article! I got interviewed for the same piece, but all I got was a lousy quote :( Oh well, maybe it's because I don't live in Boston. Anyway, just thought I'd drop you a line. Peace out. [edit] template:user fsm
I'm calling out a posse, to fight for freedom of choice, to fight all those who think that only their opinion's right, template:user fsm was speedy deleted by an administrator without any cause or even discussion, I'm therefore putting it up for undeletion since people have put a jihad out against opinions in userboxes. As you were one of many people using the template, I'm trying to rally you into the posse. If you think the template should be returned to active status, put in a vote at Wikipedia:Deletion_review/Userbox_debates#template:user_fsm. Janizary 04:26, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Random stuff
You seem to like changing your hairstyle a lot as evidenced by the mohawk page (I was there b/c I'm about to give myself a trihawk). I wanted to see the userpage of the person who took (and starred in) those photos, so yeah. Ma Vie En Rose is one of the best movies I have ever seen. I was looking at the page and if you have the movie (I don't, I only rented it) it might be good to put an extended plot summary in. Oh, and if you don't want to answer, it's totally cool, but are you a guy a girl or other? In the pics you looked like a girl, but your page says you're gay (not lesbian), and your into ma vi en rose and androgyny so I was just wondering. I used to get mistaken for a girl all the time cause I had long hair so I know what it can be on the border of gender identities. The Ungovernable Force 06:21, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Kominas
"actuandingly"? Trying to figure that one out... astoundingly? I'm tempted to vote keep on this one since I'd actually heard of the band via Michael Muhammad Knight and think their song "Rumi was a Homo" is pretty amusing, but I just don't know if it meets the notability standard. Likewise the Taqwacore article, which I cleaned up a bit, but didn't want to WP:BITE by AFDing. MMK's novel and MMK are notable, I'm not sure why punjabifire didn't start by adding them. Esquizombi 03:30, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
- No problem, I didn't know if it was a portmanteau of actuarial and astoundingly (which would have fit) or what. Points for creative misspelling! I had been thinking about adding him and/or his novel so maybe I'll get on that (have you read it?). Esquizombi 13:05, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
- Oho, you're a step ahead of me! Esquizombi 13:19, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
- I enjoyed it! It has a lot of arabic and islamic terms in it but doesn't have a glossary, so you might be using WP to help read it if you're not too familiar. Esquizombi 13:41, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
- I didn't expect The Kominas would be kept, but it was. I can't really add more to that article, but I'll try to add more to The Taqwacores since I read it again recently. Esquizombi 23:42, 31 March 2006 (UTC)

- Hi I Am Marc:
I was recently married to my lovely wife; We have lived together for several years already...
- We love cats (3 currently own us)... Jeffy(15), Echo(6) & Gizmo(3). All sleep with us in the big bed and no room to move an inch.
- I was Disabled in a 1993 (Coma)/ and am very slowly recovering. It's tough going out sometimes, though with friends I still do. I have a few supportive friends.
- I am an "Unenrolled voter." Democrat/ Republicans, I don't care, whoever serves makes my life better in the long run I vote for!
- Avid reader. Has collection of many hundreds of rare books. Especially Science Fiction and Fantasy.
- Avid Music collector (2,500 albums)...mostly bootlegs...mostly rare bootlegs...Stones, Kinks, Clapton, Beatles. and solos!
I am what I am I'm strongly opinionated about disabled peoples' rights and jobs for American citizens who have trouble finding minimum wage jobs in my state today and support Universal health care, I would be dead if I did not have it. I am an idiot about Internet social skills. I hope that the Immigration Reform bill will protect disabled citizens who wish to work like myself first before considering allowing new people to come here. I was searching for an internet forum to be my outlet to express my needs, but found that Wikipedia is not best suited for that. I'm brushing up on Wikipedia's rules of conduct, and slowly starting to begin contributing again.
Current book and CD I own hundreds of rare books
- Current Book Jack Whyte: "Uther"
- Current CD Faves:
- Warren Zevon... "Life'll Kill Ya"
- Howlin' Wolf: "Greatest Hits"
- Latest Flick: "Charles II: The Last King"

[edit] So Inspiring
Oh wow man I saw your picture on your page, you look like such a freethinking individual. I love the way you posted it everywhere so we can all constantly look at your quirky, bohemian, freethinking, chai tea drinking image everywhere we go. sorry, I dont mean to ramble, its just, your hair is so nonconformist, non stereotypical and original, it really broke the mold and inspired me to question my beliefs. Very postmodern, to say the least. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.162.172.83 (talk • contribs).
- Sarcasm, I guess... This guy could at least have the courage to contribute under an account instead of anonymously. TheJabberwʘck 23:43, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
- now whats all this talk about about cowardice and sarcasm??? JEEZE, i was just trying to tell lyo how much i love the way his whole androgynous thing really made me question gender roles. since when is it cowardly to give someone a much deserved compliment? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.162.172.83 (talk • contribs).

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:JohnnySlut.jpg
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:JohnnySlut.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nilfanion (talk) 00:50, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
