Lyman Cornelius Smith (1834-1910) was an inventor and industrialist. Although his family manufactured guns, they are not the 'Smith' from Smith and Wesson. They founded Ithaca Gun Company. Smith later went on to found the Smith-Corona Typewriter Company. He also funded the Smith Tower in Seattle, WA, and there are several buildings in Syracuse University named after him.
