Lydus

For the 6th century Byzantine writer, see Joannes Laurentius Lydus. It may also refer to the beetle genus Lydus, in the family Meloidae.

Lydus was the third king of Maeonia in succession to his father Atys. He was the third and last king of the Atyad dynasty; see List of Kings of Lydia. After Lydus, Maeonia became known as Lydia. (Histories 1.7, Herodotus)
