Re: Jacques Martin (cartoonist) and Edgar Pierre Jacobs a stub message and a link to a French article do not constitute an article and it has been deleted. Could you please ensure there is something mnore substantial there when you recreate it. many thanks. -- Graham :) | Talk 19:12, 10 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Could you undelete the pages Jacques Martin (cartoonist) and Edgar Pierre Jacobs, I was in the process of translaing them from the french version. I know there is template that says that the page is "locked" for modification, but I had no time to look at it. I've planned to put something in the day for these pages !Lvr 07:58, 11 Jun 2004 (UTC) (Thanks !)
I will undelete them but I will transfer this conversation to the article talk pages. The tag you are looking for is {{inuse}} though this is only really valid for the same day after being added to the article, we can't keep the message up for days on end. Can you please ensure in future that you add at least some minimal content about the subject matter before adding the stub message or links to other pedias. Thanks. -- Graham :) | Talk 23:43, 11 Jun 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Aruku Hito

In the article on Jiro Taniguchi, the word "aruto" probably should be "aruku" ("to walk"). However, titles being titles, I can't be sure...

Fg2 11:40, 22 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Thanks for the info. I just checked some ressources on the Web, and both I saw titles. I'll guess by your contributions that you are from Japan or at least have a good knowledge of japanese. So go up for your translation.
By the way, can you tell me how to add easily japanese letters ? Lvr 09:09, 23 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Yo, replied. =)

[edit] Bottaro

I can try to write a short article in English, but for the complete translation I have not much time. On the Italian comics, I would have before to write something in italian! Bye, Gianluigi 17:11, 21 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Great for Bottaro. For the rest, you know this is there. Lvr 07:57, 22 Sep 2004 (UTC)

[edit] collaboration of the week

Hi- I've nominated American comic book for collaboration of the week. This if it is selected it will bring a many good contributors to work on the article. If you don't mind, please give your vote of support here (near the bottom of the page). Happy editing! ike9898 18:16, Dec 3, 2004 (UTC)

Hi! I've gotten the impression that you're interested in articles related to comics and sequential art. I've just created a project called WikiProject on Comics in order to establish consensus on the organization and content of such articles, and I hope you'll join in. See the main project page and please leave comments on the Talk page. Thanks! -leigh (φθόγγος) 22:36, Dec 5, 2004 (UTC)

To ike9898 and ! -leigh (φθόγγος): If you think I may help you in the WikiProject on Comics, i'll be glad to join. Altought, you may notice
  • my poor english
  • i'm not really a specialist of the US comics. I read a lot of alternative ones a couple of years ago, but now i'm back to EU ones, and some Japanes ones too.
I can help you more in the media/technique/philosophy domain. If you need that, just give me a sign.

[edit] La Guerre des Rédacteurs

Whenever I read about editing wars on Wikipedia, I felt terribly embarressed for the people involved in them. Now I find that you and I are in one, and this was never my intention. I saw that the revert appeared to be from an ISP address, and I thought someone was just changing it back for kicks. Had I been able to follow the changes to your user page, I would've thought twice about it. Well done by you for handling with grace what I did not. For an American, I may be something of an expert on comparative and Franco-Belgian comics, but I'm still an American and you can always just pull rank on me if you like. Settling things on the talk page is definitely the way to go, so thanks for the message.--Signor Giuseppe 18:20, 9 Jan 2005 (UTC)

[edit] WGA and John Wells

Salve, Lvr!
I posted a reply to your query on Talk:Writers Guild of America. Ave! PedanticallySpeaking 21:39, Jan 26, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Category:Comic creators

Your request on Wikipedia talk:Auto-categorization was unclear. Did you need a dump of the tree of categories under this one, or did you need a bunch of articles added to it? If so, do you have a list or need someone to make one in an automated fashion? Feel free to leave a detailed request on my user talk page and I will ponder it. -- Beland 03:57, 9 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Les Editions Dargaud

Hello, Lvr! Asked it to User:Mikkel, and now to you: is it alright if I move it to Dargaud, for consistency with Le Lombard (not Les Editions Lombard or De Lombard Uitgaven)? (unfortunately I made a redirect from D to L E D before considering.)--Phlebas 16:07, Jun 17, 2005 (UTC)

It's ok for me. I made the same for the 2 links for Les Editions Dupuis that I changed to Dupuis. Lvr 10:08, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Comics Collaboration of the Fortnight

As a member of WikiProject Comics, I thought you might be interested in the Comics Collaboration of the Fortnight we have set up. Please feel free to vote on the articles listed, although bear in mind that a vote for a particular article means you are pledging to help improve the article. The goal of the collaboration is to improve articles to Featured Article status, as we feel Comics is under-represented in that area. Thanks for your help. [edit] Deletion tags

Hi, just thought I'd remind you not to remove afd tags until the debate has been concluded, even if you withdraw the nomination. It makes it a lot easier on the closing admin (in this case, me).--Scimitar parley 16:08, 31 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Italian Comics

All the artists I've added are famous in my opinion. The list of all italian artists would fill several pages. Pcostabel 01:16, 5 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Franco-Belgian comics

Hi Laurent, thanks for your comments. I didn't know what was the best way to proceed with the page, as the info was good but the formatting was (not intentional) vandalism. That's why I made the longer change summary. I'll try next time to do something more constructive, but I didn't have much time. Thanks for all the effort you've put in the pages about Europena comics, by the way! Fram 09:26, 18 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] fr:Naissance d'un album de Tintin

Laurent, hi, sorry to spring this on you but do you fancy translating the above page into english? My French is poor, I've put a request up at Wikipedia:Translation into English and no-one has bitten, and babelfish gives me something I can't make sense of. I think it would be a good article to have to show the contrast between the European tradition and the American one. Steve block talk 16:00, 19 November 2005 (UTC)

Hello Steve, Indeed it is intersting article I read a few weeks ago (pointed out by you ?). I can translate it. No problem. It is not very long. I've read it quickly to check if there were any word I would have difficulties to translate properly. May be can you me with them. Lvr 12:48, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
Thanks a lot! If you need any help let me know. Steve block talk 09:54, 23 November 2005 (UTC)

Image:WikiThanks.png Merci bien, Laurent. Tu est brilliant. I have brushed up the text, I hope you do not mind. Steve block talk 22:08, 6 December 2005 (UTC)

Nice tidying job. By the way, could you check the References section. I wasn't quite sure about the "given away" vs. granted". And also,in the Inking section. You wrote " al the while respecting ". Is "al" correct ? My Word-speller doesn't mention that as a spelling-error, but I can't find the word in my paper dictionnary. Lvr 10:19, 7 December 2005 (UTC)
Oops, that should be "all". As to granted or given away, the term is "placed into". Good catches. Steve block talk 11:25, 7 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Clifton (comics)

Hello Laurent,

thanks for your additions to the pages of Clifton and Turk. Notably you translated the publications on Clifton from the Dutch titles to the French titles. As far as I know, they were published at the same time. Do you have a reason to prefer FR over NL? Wim van Dorst 17:35, 6 January 2006 (UTC).

:-O I said to myself: french speaking authors, thus french titles. Actually, I found aftewards that they were published at the same time. We could put both names. Lvr 15:31, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Discussion at disambig of TV shows

I just wanted to thank you for your honest and polite interaction with me so far discussing the options for naming television shows. It has never gotten hostile even though it appears we disagree. I also appreciate that you "followed" the conversation and put in your very appropriate comments and objections. I have proposed a new poll and wanted to thank you there, but it just didn't seem appropriate so I'm saying it here. Thanks again --Reflex Reaction (talk)• 16:45, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

We are not here to get even more nervous :-) I'm quite impressed by number of lines that already have been written about that issue 8-0 I hope this time we will have unanimity ! Lvr 21:23, 12 January 2006 (UTC)
I wanted to wait a few days to get some more comments about the proposed poll options but it looks like people who have had something to say so far has done so. I will work on creating a new poll in the next few days (probably today or tomorrow). There will be input about the poll for about a week, then 2-3 weeks for voting for the options. Silly me, I was hoping to a naming convention banged out in a day or so. Thanks for your input. --Reflex Reaction (talk)• 17:36, 15 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] List of Homicide: Life on the Street episodes (Season 1)/Temp

Did you forget to remove this temp page? It has active category links on it making it show up in Category:Lists of television series episodes among others. --JeffW 19:06, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

I'm going to try a speedy deletion. I'm not familiar with this procedure...Lvr 09:26, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you!

Thank you for awarding me my very first barnstar. It is nice to know that the work gets appreciated, certainly by one of the other main contributors. I'm a bit occupied with the portal:Belgium, the wikiproject Belgium, and all the subpages (it all started about last week, so there's loads of work to do), but I'll get back to writing and expanding Franco-Belgian comics articles soon (coming: more on Jean Van Hamme, and new articles on Merho, Bosschaert, Berck, Cromheecke, Walthéry, Delporte, ...). Fram 12:01, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

You welcome. I'm learning a lot with your writings, espcially on flemish comics ! Lvr 20:10, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Goodbye to Camelot (Third Watch)

I reverted the blanking b/c blanking is not the right way of getting something delete. If you want it deleted, add {{rfd}} before the top line (do not subst) and record your request and rationale on WP:RFD, whereupon a full dicussion will take place. - CrazyRussian talk/email 16:17, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
