Luxury (band)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Luxury is a rock band from Toccoa, Georgia.
Luxury began playing together as "The Shroud" at Toccoa Falls College in Toccoa, Georgia in the early 1990's. They changed their name just before signing to the still young Tooth and Nail Records. Their debut album, "Amazing & Thank You," was one of the few non-hardcore releases to garner success for the label.
In the following years they toured extensively until a bad automobule accident left the band in the hospital in 1995 on their way back from Cornerstone Festival. They had very few, and possibly no more shows for a year. They were back on tour supporting their second album, "The Latest & the Greatest," though with a few less dates than anticipated. Unhappy with Tooth and Nail Records, the left in 1997 and released one more album in 1999 with Bulletproof Records, a smaller though more artist friendly label. Soon after, Luxury went their separate ways.
James Bozeman started a new band called Canary which soon became They Sang as They Slew while Lee Bozeman recorded a solo album, Love and Affection, under the moniker All Things Bright and Beautiful. 2005 found the band back in Toccoa to regroup and make a new record.Ending a six year hiatus, Luxury started to work on songs for an EP that eventually evolved and expanded into a full-length, Health and Sport, for Northern Records.
With the new recording, original members Lee, Glenn, Chris, and Jamey are joined by Matt Hinton, who played guitar on "The Latest and the Greatest" and "Luxury" and has played live with Luxury since 1999.
