Luxo L-1
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Luxo L-1 is an architects or anglepoise type luminaire. It was designed in 1937 by Jac Jacobsen for Luxo, a Norwegian company. The main technical difference between the L-1 and the Anglepoise lamp is that the L-1's arm is spring-balanced in two places, at the base and at the "elbow", whereas the Anglepoise is sprung only at the base. According to Luxo's web site, it has sold 25 million units since 1937.
