Luthor Huss

In the fictional Warhammer Fantasy setting, Luther Huss is a warrior priest of the Empire's patron deity, Sigmar. After being orphaned in a Chaos raid, he joined the Sigmarite Priesthood and grew into a tall, strong man. To prove himself against the Utterdark, he saved a Reikland village almost single-handedly from a beastmen invasion, and later slew its leader. After being ordained, however, he became sickened by clerical corruption, and finally spoke out against what he saw as a dangerous spiritual laxity. Denounced by his superiors, Huss travelled the Empire, encouraging the faithful to seek the will of Sigmar without the mediation of the clergy. Despite frequent calls for Huss to be excommunicated, the Grand Theogonist, Volkmar the Grim, merely smiled enigmatically, and turned them down.
After Volkmar's death, the election of Johann Esmer as Grand Theogonist and the rise of Chaos, Huss travelled the Empire in search of Sigmar reborn, believing the Empire was entering the times prophesised in the Church of Sigmar's holy books. He discovered Valten, who was to become the next Champion of Light, or chosen saviour of humanity. Leading him to the Empire's capital city, he watched as Valten was proclaimed Chosen of Sigmar and given his rightful weapon, Ghal Maraz. He was at Valten's side when the Chosen faced down the Chaos Warlord Archaon, in a battle that would see both men bested by their foe. After Valten was murdered, Huss began preaching at the Emperor's urging, claiming Sigmar would return once more when needed the most by his people.
