Luther E. Hall

Luther E. Hall was the Democrat governor of Louisiana from 1912 to 1916. He defeated James B. Aswell, the former president of Northwestern State University (then the Louisiana State Normal College) in Natchitoches in the Democratic primary. Later in the year, Aswell was elected to the United States House of Representatives and served from 1913 until his death in 1931.
