Lust For Dracula is a pornographic adaptation of Bram Stoker's novel Dracula, set in modern times and with all-female cast, making it an example of the lesbian vampire genre. The film is available in both Rated and Un-rated versions. While the latter is far more explicit, neither version would be called hard-core.

[edit] Plot
The story of Lust For Dracula seems to have three plotlines which interconnect in odd ways.
First, there is the story of Mina Harker, who seems to be mentally unstable at least partially because of the medications given her by her "husband" Jonathan Harker who heads a drug company (and is a woman, although Mina doesn't seem to notice this). Mina appears to be insane, although what role the medications may have with this is (like much of the plot) unexplained. For example, she pretends a doll called "Little Bat" is her baby (she desperately desires a child). Mina meets and falls in love with Count Dracula, also a woman (played by Darien Caine).
Second, Mina's sister, Dr. Abigail Van Helsing (Shelly Jones) seems to be hunting (or at least looking for) Dracula. She also is taking medication given her by Harker, which may or may not explain the vividly erotic dreams she has about Dracula (although such dreams may be hallucinations). Abigail is also strongly attracted to Harker and jealous of her sister.
Third, a two young women are meeting together in odd circumstances. One of them, Sara (Andrea Davis), seems to be a vampire, while the other, Beth (Casey Jones), may or may not be a vampire, simply believe she is a vampire, or perhaps is becoming a vampire. She also is taking drugs from Harker. They are somehow allied with Harker, and also turn up in Abigail's dreams/hallucinations. In what might be a flashback towards the end of the film, it is revealed that the Sara was killing the Beth's entire family when she fell in love with her.
At the end, Mina discovers she is married to a woman, but then also somehow gives birth suddenly. Sara and Beth are seen approaching Mina at the end before the screen goes black, followed by a scream.
[edit] Deviations from the novel
It is actually easier in this case to list the ways in which the film adheres to the novel:
- There seem to be three female vampires associated with Dracula in some way.
- Characters named Jonathan Harker, Dracula, Van Helsing and Mina are present.
- Van Helsing is some kind of vampire hunter.
- At least one character seems to be insane.
- Mina is married to Harker, and becomes involved with Dracula.
[edit] Trivia
- According to the Director's Commentary on the DVD, Darien Caine owns her own pair of fitted fangs.
- The script began life as an unproduced stage-play.
- In an interview on the DVD, star Misty Mundae admitted she didn't really understand the plot.
