[edit] Gender
I want to point out that the current information on Rupi does show what Rupi's actual gender is. The jury is still out on that one.
- Luppi is how it is spelled, and not only does his fraim suggest a males, he also has an Adam's apple in his first apperance.
- We used Rupi until the official romanization was known. Also, WTF did you do to the formatting?--tjstrf 21:28, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
- No idea what I did. The point is, is that Luppi is the official spelling, and it should stay as that. Whatever the case though, it's pointless to discuss here.
- Duh. That's what we're doing. We used the unofficial spelling only until we had the official version. --tjstrf 21:42, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Notable character now, deserves own article
Damn, I hate it when we're wrong. We try our best to be non-speculative, but that essentially just means any speculation the 3-5 of us who actively edit agree on makes it in anyway. On the other hand, I am glad he survived, I like Luppi. I guess he does qualify as a notable character now. --tjstrf 17:52, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Demotion or death... ?
I have read chapter 240 of the manga, and indeed Grimmjow regained his arm thanks to Orihime's powers. He recovered his rank and pierced Luppi through the chest, and by doing so, Luppi was demoted off his Espada rank.
What I'm puzzled about is if Luppi's already been killed?
Because right after impaling him, Grimmjow blasts him with a cero at point-blank range.
If Luppi's death is indeed confirmed in the next manga issue, then this section about his character defeats all purpose to exist or stay longer. Certainly, I could care less about Luppi because his character seemed too much shallow and corn for my taste. Guido MTY 14:49, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
- If it's confirmed that he's eliminated (how much more dead can an Arrancar be? :P), I'll be more than willing to merge him back into the primary Hollow (Bleach) page. --Merovingian - Talk 15:16, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
- Could we wait another week or two first? We already promoted then demoted him from article status once before, I don't exactly want to have to rewrite the article AGAIN if it turns out he's not really dead yet. We all thought he was dead when Hitsugaya blasted him with that Ice Prison attack, and he wasn't, so, he may once again not be dead this time. --tjstrf 15:46, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

- Yeah, it's always possible that Aizen will have Orihime restore him. It would be pretty pointless to have him threat Hitsugaya and then have him die a few chapters later. Nemu 15:48, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
- All in all, I'd rather that the article be kept. Relatively speaking, if we have an article about another Bleach character who's had far fewer appearances, Luppi should be fine to stay. --Merovingian - Talk 16:05, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
- Sasikabe only has an article because every other captain and vice had one. However, we could justify Luppi's inclusion even after death by saying that Espada are the logical equivalent of captains within the Menos army. --tjstrf 16:13, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
- Point well taken. --Merovingian - Talk 18:12, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Waiting for official confirmation: how to avoid making Wikipedia look stupid!
OK, I realize there's a lot of buzz going around the community right now, and you're all excited about Grimmjow's healing and how badly he just pwned Luppi, but would you stop claiming he's dead? We just saw that Orihime can heal to an amazing extent and regenerate practically any injury, right? And we all thought Luppi was dead when Histugaya smashed him, and he was alive that time, right? So, let's learn from our mistakes, and not go assuming people are dead until we have official confirmation. 'mmkay? --tjstrf 00:46, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
- Well, he's currently dead at the moment, but Orhime can still bring him back. Where was it saying he was dead in the article? It didn't look like it was to me. Nemu 00:49, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
- Multiple instances stating that Luppi was "blown up", "destroyed", etc. Also, as I mentioned in my edit summary a minute ago, you cannot blow somebody's torso "off". Think about it logically: when a head, arm, leg, etc. is cut or blown "off", what are they being cut off of? The torso. Since the torso is the central, non-extended portion of the body, it cannot be taken "off" of the body. So stop saying Grimmjow blew Luppi's torso off, it's a contradiction in terms. --tjstrf 01:16, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
