A brief introduction

Hey, there. If you'd like to get to know me a little better, you can have a look at my blog, hang around a bit on IRC, or find me at any of the various other websites I participate in. To tell the truth, I've never been too sure about what to put up on this page, aside from that helpful box of links above, so I figure I should leave a few things that'll be useful for other people.

The vast majority of my edits on the wiki are probably on recent changes patrol. I am a pretty active administrator -- for some time, this page made no mention of that, but I eventually realized that was confusing people, so here the notice goes. I regularly assist in the upkeep of requests for unblock, protected edit requests, checkuser requests, admin intervention against vandalism, username usurpation requests, and the like. I sometimes close or participate in articles for deletion, categories for discussion, or deletion review discussions (and others, but generally only when prompted or I find something interesting). I occassionally post at the village pump and admin noticeboards. I'm also subscribed to a number of the Wikimedia Foundation's mailing lists, including foundation-l, wikiEN-l, wikipedia-l, and unblock-en-l.

Before they were shut down, I was a (fairly inactive) member of Esperanza, and a regular participant at the understaffed personal attack intervention noticeboard. I occassionally offer third opinions and try to cool down heated disputes when I run across them.

I make it a point to welcome helpful users and to contribute to Wikipedia's help desk (and related tasks); new users are the lifeblood of the wiki, in my opinion.

Other than that, I've made or worked on a wide assortment of templates, and I'm generally adept, if you need any help with them.
