[edit] Salamanders (re-)discovered
It looks like Pseudoeurycea don't have an article yet, so I'm posting this here. Danish newspapers report that Pseudoeurycea nigromaculata recently was rediscovered by a Danish biologist. Apparently believed extinct since the 1980s, biologist Thomas Bille sighted a specimen on Mount Cerro Chicahuaxtla, Mexico. The salamander is described as small, almost completely black with small brown specks on its tail. Bille also discovered a new variant of Pseudoeurycea near the village of Zoquitlan, Mexico. It is described as black with tiny white spots and large legs with big orange spots. This specimen was missing its tail. Both finds have been confirmed by a specialist at the University of Berkeley.
